What can I do with something that's dead?
Decomposers are the secret workers of the food chain. When a piece of the food chain dies, the decomposer comes to the rescue to break that fallen soldier into its most basic parts: organic matter and nutrients. these nutrients are then returned to the ground to be used as a food source to other members of the food chain.
